Some of the above names are first names because the last names are not known. When there is a number after the last name it means that they are a junior or named the same as another person.

So far I have a count of 340 in the family tree. But that is only the central part of it. That does not inlude most of the spouses parents, or the early brothers and sisters families. I will eventually get to those but not yet.

The Burning Question - Are we related to President Monroe?

When I was a little girl I was told that we were related to President Monroe. So I did some research to find out and this is what I found. The quick answer is not really. But checking more the answer is yes in a round a bout way. And this is how - President Monroe's sister Ann

married Jemima Herod's brother. Jemima was married to Reuben Wilson. So there it is...

George Willson - Where was he from?

"STROUD or Stroudwater is 30 miles from Bristol, 14 from Cheltenham and nine from Gloucester City. It was the centre of the clothing trade in 1830, with mills every few hundred yards on every river. In the census of 1821 the parish had 7,097 inhabitants."
